Nepean Sailing Club
About Nepean Sailing Club
The NSC is a family-oriented, volunteer based organization dedicated to promoting and encouraging active participation by members and the general public in the sport of sailing and recreational boating. The Club was started in 1979 by a group of sail enthusiasts from local communities and the City of Nepean. A great deal of what you see today is due to volunteerism and a love of boating at a reasonable cost.
NSC also provides Adapted Programs & Accessible Sailboats for persons with special needs in the National Capital Region. Our award-winning Sail Training Programs introduce hundreds of new sailors to the sport each year through introductory learn-to-sail courses and camps. Kids have a blast in summer sailing camps — spending time outdoors, making friends and being on the water.
The Club features a licensed Club room and lounge overlooking the harbour, with an unobstructed view of the Ottawa River and the Gatineau Hills. The bar is open year round, with reduced hours during the off season. Entertaining events, dinners, parties, and activities are scheduled year round which cater to members of all ages and is a great opportunity to meet people with similar interests. Washrooms and showers are accessible from the docks and dry sail area. Ice and soft drink machines are located on the ground level .Facilities are fully accessible for disabled and includes lots of free parking. The NSC is a non-smoking building with bright, airy and sp,acious rooms with high natural wood beams and ceilings.
