Are You Looking for Staff to Fill Your Service Department or Boat Repair Facility?

February 2018

Georgian College delivers 2 Mechanical Techniques, Post-Secondary programs that can benefit your operation.  The Marine Engine Mechanic Program is designed to prepare students to work in the service department of a marina or boat repair facility and the Small Engine Program is preparing students to work in Small Engine Shops or Powersports Dealerships.

These students will be seeking a 4-week (160 hours) non paid field placement, beginning after April 27th, 2018. This field placement is under the auspices of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development (formally MTCU) and is offered at no cost to the employer.  Georgian College will cover the student for WSIB.

If you are interested in supporting a student, please complete and submit the attached posting form.  Also, indicate if there is the possibility of full time employment and/or an apprenticeship after a successful placement.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding the program and note that you may not get a response to your posting due to a greater number of job postings than students to fill them.

Georgian College also delivers levels 1, 2, and 3 of the marine apprenticeship and levels 1 and 2 for the small engine apprenticeship.  Please contact me at the number below if you want more information regarding apprenticeship training.

Thank you for your support and participation in our student’s education.
