DESCRIPTION: Course Description This course offers a practical and engaging
  introduction to safe lifting practices for marina operators\, 
 supervisors\, and employers across Ontario. Designed to support compliance
  with provincial legislation\, it provides a clear\, easy-to-understand 
 framework for managing lifting operations with confidence. Participants 
 will explore key principles and regulatory requirements related to 
 industrial cranes\, lift trucks\, mobile boat hoists\, and hydraulic 
 trailers\, with real-world examples drawn from marina and boatyard 
 environments. Common lifting tasks involving forklifts\, cranes\, boat 
 hoists\, and travel lifts are discussed\, with a strong focus on 
 recognizing hazards and making informed decisions in day-to-day 
 operations. The course empowers participants with the knowledge needed to 
 promote safer workplaces\, protect staff and equipment\, and approach 
 lifting activities with greater awareness and confidence. Note: Employers 
 must supply site-specific training\, as required by the definition of 
 competency on all varied and unique lifting devices found in the field.
