Be a Part of the New Boater Assist Program; Become a Service Centre

BOATER ASSIST SERVICE CENTRES WANTED

The new Boater Assist program is now up and running in four Ontario pilot markets (St. Lawrence River, Lake Simcoe and Couchiching, South Eastern Georgian Bay and Lakes Muskoka, Joseph and Rousseau).

Plans are presently underway to expand the program to all major Ontario boating areas for the 2012 boating season.

Boating Ontario is seeking expressions of interest from all members who may wish to become a Boater Assist Authorized Service Centre in 2012. To become an authorized Boater Assist

Service Centre you must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a suitable response workboat capable of being certified as a commercial vessel by Transport Canada.
  • Be able to staff a response boat from early May to the end of October, 7 days a week during daylight hours.
  • Have your staff trained to meet Transport Canada standards.
  • Be willing to obtain appropriate insurance.

Boater Assist will provide an Operations Manual, training assistance, and will pay the service centres for all services provided to Boater Assist Members. Boater Assist Service Centres will also be eligible to become an Authorized Boater Assist Sales Agents thereby selling Boater Assist Memberships and receiving a significant sales commission for each membership sold.
