Special Preview Night Returns to the Toronto Boat Show
The Toronto International Boat Show dates are January 14th – 22nd, 2012 at the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place. After an excellent Show in 2011 with many exhibitors experiencing above average sales, the exhibitor renewals are reported to be very strong as Canada’s largest boat show prepares to mark its 54th anniversary.
Rejoining the Show this year will be the unique “Special Preview Night” to be held Friday, January 13th. The event had been on a two-year hiatus due to the ailing economy and the earlier show dates compared to this year’s 2012 show dates which are a week later than the recent date pattern. When the event had such early dates in January, it was both logistically and financially challenging for the show to run the charity event. It is expected that consumers will embrace the evening once again as it’s been the number one question asked, “when will the Special Preview Night return?” This successful event has raised more than $560,000 in the past 10 years for boating-affiliated charities.
For eight years, Show organizers have strategically increased the number of guest speakers and put the emphasis on providing additional educational seminars resulting in over 100 presentations at the show with the majority being full. This year, the seminar offering grows as an additional seminar stage location will be added adjacent to the existing presentation hall in salon 107. These compelling speakers and their interesting topics offer great opportunities for increased media attention, thereby increasing the profile of the Show as well as potential attendance.
The Show will once again feature the world’s largest indoor lake in Ricoh Coliseum – a continuing source of extremely positive PR for the show and a definite crowd-pleaser. Exhibitors wishing to participate in the programming on the Lake are asked to contact chare@canadianboatshows.com.
