All Clean Marine Eco-Rated marinas who have earned 4 or 5-anchor ratings!
Achieving 5-anchors has been a major accomplishment, but you may now advance to the next level of
recognition in the Clean Marine Program adding Gold, Diamond or Platinum status to your rating. The Gold,
Diamond and Platinum Ratings allow 5-anchor marinas the opportunity to advance beyond 5-anchor status.
Here’s how.
Meet any 4 of the following 12 criteria to achieve Gold status, 8 criteria to achieve Diamond status and all 12
to achieve Platinum.
1 Does your marina adhere to a recognized Environmental Management System?
2 Has any of the marina sta attended an OMOA approved Spills-Containment Course in the past three years?
3 Does the marina have over 90% of lighting converted to compact fluorescent or similar high efficiency lighting?
4 Has the marina educated its customers on the Clean Marine Eco-Rating Program with a minimum of three communications pieces provided to customers?
5 Does the marina contribute to local environmental initiatives either financially or through participation?
6 Does the marina insist all boaters renting slips sign an environmental commitment pledge?
7 Does the marina insist that all boaters must have a bilge sock/pad or a bilge pump discharge filter when bilges are too oil contaminated for pads to be effective?
8 Does the marina have proof that employee training includes an environmental awareness/practices component, including awareness of the Clean Marine Program?
9 Has the marina converted workboats and any rental fleet to new-technology engines?
10 Has the marina completed in-house or third party waste audits showing year over year improvements?
11 Does the marina provide heated storage or, use no antifreeze for winterizing or, recover for recycling a minimum of 75% of the used antifreeze?
12 Does the marina have any visible derelict boats on the premises and does the marina store boat cradles in areas visible to marina customers or the general public?
