Our committees are comprised of enthusiastic leaders who provide valuable insight into every facet of our industry, allowing us to continue delivering services that support our members and promote the growth of the recreational boating industry.
Executive & Governance Committee
Works with the CEO on important Association issues that require Board of Directors input.
Trade Director Nominating Committee
Solicits and nominated candidates from the trade membership to be a member of the Boating Ontario Board of Directors on behalf of the trade members. The committee participates with the Governance Committee to ensure that the bylaws of the Association are being followed and suggests amendments when appropriate.
Conference & Trade Show Committee
Works with the Boating Ontario staff in the selection of the annual conference and trade show site, agenda, sponsors, speakers and pricing structures.
Discover Boating Committee
Sets strategic policies and direction for the Boating Ontario Discover Boating program on a regional basis as well as making recommendations to the Board on methods and levels of funding and establishing the criteria for participation of Boating Ontario members in Discover Boating events. Committee members participate in the national campaign as required.
Skills Shortage Committee
Works with all Boating Ontario members, governments, educators and other stakeholders to overcome the shortage of trained workers in the recreational boating industry. The committee also establishes what training courses should be made available to Boating Ontario members.
Reviews the insurance policies and practices of Boating Ontario. The committee meets with the Boating Ontario brokers and underwriters to ensure quality insurance products for the members at reasonable rates.
Plan the yearly goals, expectations and membership rates for the Association.
Clean Marine Committee
Establishes policy, strategy, funding and guidelines for the Clean Marine Program.
